IUS and ABSL Sign MoU to Strengthen Student Industry Engagement

On Wednesday, October 22, 2025, the International University of Sarajevo (IUS) and the Association of Business Service Leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina (ABSL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) marking the beginning of a promising collaboration between academia and the business services sector.

The document was signed by IUS Rector, Prof. Dr. Ali Osman Kuşakcı, and Mrs. Nadina Gradaščević, Director of ABSL. The MoU aims to provide IUS students with real-world, hands-on experiences, including internship opportunities, professional training, and potential job placements in some of the most dynamic companies in the region.

This collaboration builds upon the successful cooperation between the IUS Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center (IAE Center) and ABSL. As part of this partnership, IUS has already sent two students from the Visual Arts and Visual Communications Design (VACD) program for an internship experience that involved designing and structuring the visual layout for the ABSL 2025 Book Report—an achievement that reflects the high quality of IUS student work and their readiness to engage in professional environments.

Looking ahead, ABSL has invited IUS to participate in the Western Balkans Conference 2025, a key regional event that brings together leaders and innovators from across the business services sector.

Representing the leading organization for the business services industry in Bosnia and Herzegovina, ABSL unites high-profile companies operating as Shared Services Centers (SSC), Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO), and Research & Development (R&D) service providers. This fast-growing sector holds enormous potential to position Bosnia and Herzegovina as a desirable nearshore destination, leveraging the country’s strategic advantages and talented workforce.

Through this new partnership, IUS and ABSL reaffirm their shared commitment to preparing students for successful careers and strengthening the bridge between higher education and the evolving business environment.
